Rafting, kayaking, fishing, golf and even skiing in the summer (at Bruneau Sand Dunes) are some of the regional adventures available for solo travelers, groups and families. Southwest Idaho is home to more than 20 golf courses in the desert and the mountains. Boise has been recognized as the nation’s “#1 Mountain Biking Town,” and mountain biking trails run through Southwest Idaho’s deserts and canyons of the Owyhee Canyonlands and the ridges of Idaho West Central Mountains. Travelers also enjoy Peregrine Fund's World Center for Birds of Prey to learn through interactive exhibits and intimate encounters with live birds, including the endangered California Condor, Harpy Eagle, and Aplomado Falcon.
