Nine Quarter Circle Ranch Celebrates 100 Years of Family Vacations

(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 13, 2012 ) GALLATIN GATEWAY, Mont.- This year, Nine Quarter Circle Ranch is proud to celebrate 100 years of providing memorable dude ranch vacations. The 2012 season will kick off June 17. As a way to thank guests for being part of this significant moment in ranch history, each booked party this season will receive a complimentary cookbook containing favorite ranch recipes.

Nine Quarter Circle Ranch, which was originally settled with several homesteads in the early 1900s, began welcoming guests in 1912 after being purchased by the Butler Family. In 1945 the Kelsey family purchased the ranch, and has continued owning and operating it since. Located off the northwest corner of Yellowstone National Park next to the Taylor Hilgard Wilderness, Nine Quarter Circle Ranch offers traditional ranch experiences with western hospitality. ItÂ’s described by some guests as a place Â“where time stands still.Â” Guests come for activities like horseback riding, fly-fishing, square dancing, pack trips, and hay rides.

Over the years the ranch has created new programs and activities to enhance traditional stays. One popular program, Kiddie Wrangler, was developed to provide kids ages 6-9 the chance to explore the ranch in a safe and fun way, while parents and grandparents have their own adventures. For younger children, infants to age 5, a babysitter is available.

Additional opportunities are available for guests to try adventures off the ranch as well, including trips to nearby Yellowstone, whitewater rafting, zipline and canopy tours, and visits to the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman.

August 26th-September 2nd, the ranch will hold its 18th Annual Montana Cowgirl Quilting Retreat. This week-long adults-only program focuses on quilting, camaraderie, and the beauty of Big Sky Country. During the week, participants spend part of the days learning from internationally-recognized quilting cowgirls Charlotte Warr Andersen and Georgia Bonesteel and the rest of the time fishing, riding, hiking, and relaxing in this pristine and peaceful place. This year, the instructors are designing a special quilt as part of the ranchÂ’s 100th Anniversary celebration.
