(EMAILWIRE.COM, March 13, 2012 ) PORT ANGELES, Wash.- Port Angeles, a coastal town centrally located on WashingtonÂ’s Olympic Peninsula, invites travelers to experience the many summer activities and adventures available here.
• The Downtown Waterfront and City Pier offer much more than spectacular views. As the town’s main hub of activity, these areas play host to many summer festivals, farmers markets, and outdoor concerts. Year round features include an underground history tour, art galleries, outdoor sculptures, local restaurants, independent bookstores, and other boutique shops.
• Port Angeles is the gateway town to Olympic National Park’s most famous attraction: Hurricane Ridge. While this part of the park is popular with hikers and drivers eager to see the sights, on August 5, 2012 cyclists will take over for the annual Ride the Hurricane event.
• For a quick international trip, Victoria, British Columbia sits only 18 miles north of town. The Blackball Coho Ferry offers daily departures and Kenmore Air operates charter flights in the region.
Port Angeles is part of a region rich in outdoor adventure, culinary attractions, and American history. While some visitors choose to use the town as a base for exploring the area, others delve into its fun and quirky offerings.
