(I-TravelNewswire.Com, June 11, 2012 ) BOISE, Idaho- In 2009 Governor Butch Otter declared June Idaho Wine Month. As wine lovers we all know we don’t wait for a single month to drink our favorite wines, so in June make sure those favorites are from one of Idaho’s spectacular wineries. Idaho Wine Month encourages local customers to drink local! We are asking local restaurants, retails stores, and wine shops to offer specials during the month of June to celebrate Idaho Wine Month and we encourage consumers to buy Idaho products, and of course Idaho Wine!
To help celebrate the fun and joy of Idaho Wine Month, the Idaho Wine Commission is hosting Savor Idaho, Idaho’s premier wine and food event. Savor Idaho focuses on showing the best of Idaho from wines, restaurants, local businesses and local artists; Savor Idaho embraces all that Idaho has to offer. It will be held at Idaho Botanical Garden on June 10 from 2-6 pm. Tickets are selling fast. To learn more about Savor Idaho and to purchase tickets please visit www.savoridaho.org.
Idaho has emerged as a major wine-producing state. With the long, hot days available to growers and our state’s rich, volcanic soil, grapes are being grown and made into award-winning wines. This year alone we have been nationally recognized in The New York Times and Wine Enthusiast, for our outstanding wines. Idaho Wine Month was created to encourage people to come together and embrace what their own state has to offer.
Please visit the Idaho Wine Commission’s Events Page to see a list of special Idaho wine promotions from the following restaurants:
Bandenay
Berryhill & Co.
Cottonwood Grille
Melting Pot
The Press Room
The Idaho Wine Commission’s goal is to market and promoted all Idaho wineries and growers. There are a total of 48 wineries with 1600 acres planted. The wine industry contributed $72 million to Idaho’s economy. Visit www.idahowines.org for more information about wineries, vineyards, and events in Idaho.
