BC Ferries Expanding Service for Holidays Reports Victoria Hotels BC

(I-TravelNewswire.Com, January 04, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- There will soon be 120 additional sailings between Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island, thanks to BC Ferries expansion of it services over the holiday season.

Between the dates of December 19 and January 6, 2013, there will be 86 sailings between the Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay. There will also be 36 trips added for the Horseshoe Bay and Departure Bay route.

December 26 and 27 will be the busiest of ferry dates. This is especially true for mid-day travelers during the holidays. BC Ferries recommends reservations for all customers that must plan for specific ferries on specific dates and times.

BC Ferries also took the precaution to remind passengers that the Christmas Day and New Year's Day sailing schedules are often reduced on particular routes that have historically experienced low demand during the stretch of dates.

The ferries will be offering gingerbread cookies, pumpkin tarts, as well as Starbucks Christmas blend coffee on selected vessels throughout the fleet. There will even be roasted turkey with stuffing and trimmings at a dinner buffet on the Tsawwassen-to-Swartz Bay route. Those extras will be on a limited time basis.

Passengers can also take advantage of the gift shops on the major vessels, which will offer a wide array of jewelry, clothing, apparel, children's toys, ornaments, and books. These gifts can be great last-minute gifts or additions to the stocking stuffers. BC Ferries will also be offering gift certificates, which make quality stocking stuffers themselves.
