(I-TravelNewswire.Com, January 09, 2013 ) ESSEX, UK -- In the opening of a new year, traveling and tour businesses are ready to enjoy the 'Sunshine Sunday” as the biggest weekend of the year is upon them.
Tens of thousands of Brits are ready to secure their travel opportunities, complete with touring options soon. That means tour companies must be ready to weather the storm of demand and provide quality supply of what travelers look for in a vacation and tour holiday.
Based upon the purchasing patterns within the past half-decade, travel businesses predict that online book will find its peak on or around January 6, which is date they dubbed “Sunshine Sunday”.
Thomson, which enjoys its place as one of Europe's largest traveling companies, stated that it will anticipate more than two million in searches on Sunday. The highest brick of traffic is likely to be around 8:45pm (GMT), according to the travel giant.
British Airways Holidays, which launched its annual January sale this last week, has predicted that Monday, not Sunshine Sunday, will see the highest number of bookings.
“With Christmas firmly out of the way many people want a holiday in the sunshine to look forward to,” said a spokesman for Thomson. “Over the last few years we’ve seen a trend towards booking holidays earlier and with record bookings over Christmas we’re expecting the rush to continue.”
The spokesperson also stated that the most popular destination in the Mediterranean are Greece, the Canary Islands, and Majorca, while Mexico, Jamaica, and Thailand are also strong sellers.
British airways predicts that the most popular destination will be Orlando, Barbados, Las Vegas, Dubai, and St. Lucia. New York, Rome, Venice, Barcelona, and Berlin will are said to be the most attractive city attractions.
Claire Bentley, managing director of British Airways Holidays, said: “We anticipate a bumper booking day next Monday, with the return to work and start of a new school term, signaling the need for families to have sunnier climes to look forward to.”
