(I-TravelNewswire.Com, July 02, 2014 ) New York, NY -- Tracey Ceurvels, aka, The Busy Hedonist, has relaunched her App: NYCiFoodShop, which helps locals and visitors find the best food shops in New York City, from farmer's markets to spice shops. It's published by Sutro Media.
Ceurvels, who also sells a cheese cheese grater/zester on Amazon.com, lives in New York City and shops at all the local stores. "Almost every day I head out to a spice shop, a Greek supermarket, a farmer's market, an Italian specialty store, a butcher shop or other market," says Ceurvels, a food & travel writer as well as CEO of The Busy Hedonist: tools, tips & treats for busy food lovers. "I absolutely love bringing home ingredients to make dinner for my family."
"New York City has such a wide variety of food stores so I wanted to share them with both locals and visitors," says Ceurvels. The App features Asian supermarkets, Italian shops, Indian spice stores, outdoor markets and many other food stores in all the boroughs. "In NYC, you can get nearly any ingredient imaginable. You can choose from hundreds of salts, buy unique Indian spices, get rare cuts of meat, fresh fish, artisanal cheese, homemade bread, fresh pita, olive oil, vinegars and hundred of other ingredients to take home for cooking."
Ceurvels is also writing a cookbook, "The NYC Kitchen: Recipes inspired
by the specialty food shops, spice stores + markets of NYC" (agented by Dee Mura Literary) which will feature recipes based on her adventures shopping at some of the stores that she's included in App. "I'm the kind of home cook who loves to experiment with different ingredients, so I love trekking around NYC and visiting stores. While the cookbook will of course have recipes, the App is a great introduction for locals and for people visiting NYC who want to figure out what stores to visit and what to buy when there."
The app includes:
Essential info about each store, including address, web site, phone number
A map showing the location of each store
Insider information on each store
Information about what's sold at each store
Photographs
and more
The app can be bought for iPhones and iPads by searching for: NYC iFoodshop and also available for the Android.
"The Busy Hedonist: tools, tips & treats for busy food lovers" is dedicated to inspiring home cooks in the kitchen with recipes, travel stories, unique ingredients and handy kitchen products to create easy yet mouthwatering meals.
