(EMAILWIRE.COM, January 08, 2010 ) SHERIDAN, Wyo.— Start with The Powder Horn, a 27-hole course rated in GolfWeek’s Top 100 in the Nation. Its natural beauty features the Mountain Nine Scottish links course, the Stag Nine western target golf and the Eagle Nine’s surprising length and creative shot-making opportunities. Kendrick Golf Course is just three miles west of town and is rated in the top five courses in Wyoming by Golf Digest. This 18-hole, par 72 course dates to 1935 and offers golf and practice facilities for all levels of play.
The Sheridan Country Club is within the city. It offers offers nine holes with dual tee boxes, affording 18-hole play. It boasts vistas of the Big Horn Mountains from each hole. All three courses offer clubhouses with dining and pro shops. Speaking of the mountains, the Buffalo Golf Club is 35 miles from town at the base of the Big Horns. Of course it offers a lot of up and down play, along with mature, tree-lined fairways.
