(EMAILWIRE.COM, September 08, 2010 ) Austin, Texas – The innovative, new and original Austin store for gifts and products ‘made for weirdos, by weirdos,’ Austinites, opened the weekend of August 21st with great enthusiasm. Vendors were on site providing samples and demonstrations of their products. Musicians with music for sale in the store signed CD’s and performed original songs their acoustic guitars.
Following the ribbon cutting ceremony, guests commented on the excellent selection and variety Austinites provides, as well as the quality of the products too unique to be found in all the major retailers. Owner David Morales expressed his praise for the community support saying “It’s great to see Austinites supporting Austinites. This community has too much to offer for there not to be a place to bring it all together.” “Judging by this great turnout it’s obvious that Austinites appreciate distinctive local quality,” said Morales.
One Austinite customer explained, “When you step in the store you feel like you are going to meet a friend, it’s so intimate and welcoming.” Another appreciated meeting the vendors who put their heart and soul into these products, saying “it’s great to put faces to products, hear these people’s stories and realize that they did not make these products just for income, but chose to express themselves through a product that represents their concerns or passions.”
Everyone is encouraged to drop by the store and experience Austinites for themselves. After witnessing the selection and speaking to the store manager Leah, you will know why this place is lovingly tagged ‘for weirdos, by weirdos.’
