(EMAILWIRE.COM, April 07, 2011 ) Ashland, Ore. – Ashland-based whitewater rafting outfitter, Indigo Creek Outfitters, will offer a variety of specialty trips during the upcoming rafting season. “The river trips we run are fun simply by themselves and to commemorate special days and events we’ve designated certain dates as theme trips,” said Will Volpert, owner and founder of Indigo Creek Outfitters.
Their first specialty trip, scheduled for the weekend of May 7th and 8th, is focused on Mother’s Day. “Bring mom with you on the river and the two of you will enjoy a great day on the water. When you return you return to our River Center at the end of the trip we’ll have a special gift for mom, as well as a commemorative Indigo Creek Outfitters’ wine glass for each of you,” says Volpert. “Also, mom will get 20% off her trip fare.”
Offering specialty theme trips is just one way the new outfitter hopes to differentiate from others offering other rafting trips. “There are other rafting companies that run trips on the same stretch of river,” Volpert says, “but we’re hoping to offer a different, more comfortable experience.”
That “different experience” starts, he claims, with the Indigo Creek Outfitters’ River Center. “Our River Center is a comfortable place to start a trip. We don’t pick you up on the side of the road. You meet us here, where we have changing rooms and items that make a rafting trip easy.” Inside the River Center, located at 130 A Street in Ashland, customers will be suited with lifejackets and wetsuits, “if it’s a tad chilly,” Volpert adds.
Other specialty trips Indigo Creek Outfitters has planned are on Father’s Day weekend (June 18th and 19th) and the 4th of July weekend (July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th). “River trips are a lot more than just whitewater,” says Volpert, “because the experience of sharing the outdoors with a loved one provides invaluable and lasting memories, these specialty trips are phenomenal gifts.”
