(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 30, 2011 ) NAMPA, Idaho -- Lakeside Lavender, home of IdahoÂ’s largest lavender festival, is gearing up for the farmÂ’s 7th Annual You-Cut Festival on July 9 and 10 on the shores of Lake Lowell in Southwest Idaho.
The lavender fields and annual festival are a labor of love for Steve and Marie Clark, who open their family farm to thousands of visitors every year on a weekend in July so Idahoans can have have an experience for all the senses.
The festival will feature more than 1500 lavender plants available for self-harvest, along with live plants for sale, crafts from local artisans, massages, horse-drawn carriage rides, lavender-inspired lunch from NampaÂ’s Brick 29 Bistro and the Clark FamilyÂ’s homemade lavender ice cream.
The festival is free to attend and also includes free classes on utilizing lavender, including Lavender Wand Making, Cooking with Lavender, Essential Oil Uses and Propagating and Harvesting.
“We are always looking for new opportunities to enhance the Lakeside Lavender experience for our guests,” said Steve Clark, Lakeside Lavender Proprietor. “This year we’re adding new products made from our essential oil, welcoming new artisans and looking forward to great culinary experiences from Brick 29 Bistro’s lavender-inspired boxed lunches along with our lavender ice cream and lavender lattes and Italian sodas.”
The Festival and vendor hours run from 9 am–4 pm on both days. Live music will be featured each day from 11 am–3 pm, along with lavender-centric boxed lunches from 11–2 pm (or until gone).
