His film credits include hits like “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” “Bruce Almighty” and “Ace Ventura.” I Am movie is his first attempt to make a non-fiction type of motion picture. The movie is a colorful, probing exploration of the word, which asks two important questions: “What’s wrong with our world?” and “What can we do to make it better?”
The I Am documentary recounts the life of the filmmaker after the painful aftermath of his cycling accident. Director Shadyac was temporarily temporarily disabled, and when he finally recovered, he was a changed man. This made him think differently about life and success in general. He decided to sell his extravagant house, and transferred to a mobile home to start a new life. As Shadyac started asking questions, he embarks on a journey with nothing but a camera crew and his curiosity. He wants to learn "how we can improve our existence in the world we live in."
The I Am DVD shows how the director meets different types of thinkers and doers such as Howard Zinn, Lynne McTaggart, David Suzuki, Coleman Barks, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Marc Ian Barasch and many others. The movie presents life and reality in a new and different way. I Am DVD release date is on January 3, 2012 in the U.S.
